The IC200CHS002B is a Barrier-Style I/O Carrier. In the VersaMax architecture, the carrier is the part that remains fixed to the DIN rail, while the active I/O module (the “intelligence”) snaps onto it. This “plug-and-play” design allows for “Hot Swapping” of modules without disturbing the field wiring.

The Barrier-Style design features exposed screw terminals separated by plastic walls (barriers). This layout is preferred in industrial environments where high-vibration resistance and secure, high-torque wire clamping are required. It provides a direct interface between the I/O module and the sensors or actuators in the field.
