The 2711P-RP1 is a modular component that attaches to the back of a PanelView Plus display module (such as the 700, 1000, 1250, or 1500 models). Its primary job is to execute the FactoryTalk View Machine Edition (ME) runtime environment.
It handles data processing, alarm management, and recipe handling, while providing the physical ports required to connect the HMI to an industrial network. Because the PanelView Plus system is modular, the 2711P-RP1 can be replaced or upgraded without discarding the expensive front display glass and touch membrane.
